Our Covid Promise

-at a glance-

At Bearslake, we have always upheld the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, as you would expect from the only local establishment in our area with the highest possible Food Hygiene rating of 5. We know this has never been more important than it is right now! We want to reassure you that we are taking every precaution to ensure your safety and well being during your visit or stay with us.

COVID UPDATE: MONDAY 19th JULY 2021

At Bearslake Inn we are so excited to begin a return to normal, although as always safety is our top priority and so we have decided that we will be doing so at a slightly slower rate.

Our team will continue to support the use of face coverings and we would ask our customers to respect this and do the same. We will continue with the use of hand sanitisers, to maintain social distancing, to stagger bookings to allow for a safer service, to deliver table service and will always keep the Inn cleaned to COVID secure standard. We have waited far too long not to air on the side of caution.

COVID UPDATE: MONDAY 22nd FEBRUARY 2021

We are planning on re-opening both our rooms  from Monday 17th May 2021 and pub and restaurant from Wednesday 19th May, government advice pending.

As part of the Lockdown Roadmap as from May 17th we will be able to accept table bookings inside for 2 households or the parties that adhere to the Rule of 6, there will be no restrictions for outdoor table bookings as long as it is under 30 people.

COVID UPDATE: FRIDAY 27th NOVEMBER 2020

By now you will have seen a hundred variations of the same theme about how hospitality business will be applying the new government guidelines. But please take the time to read our little statement because keeping you, our customers and our staff safe is our priority at this time.

At Bearslake we will be complying with all the new guidance/laws and along with our already strict practices we will have a couple of new additions.

We will only be able to accept room and restaurant booking from guests who are in Tiers 1 or 2 and all guests must abide by the rules of there and our Tier at all times. Guests who book rooms or tables with us who are at the time of booking already in Tier 3 may not be entitled to a return of payment or deposit. The liability here is on you to be up to date with your local and region restrictions. please always refer to gov.uk website for the most up to date information. Guests who have seen Tiers change between time of booking and redemption, may, at the Managements discretion, be entitled to move their booking but may not be entitled to a refund of any monies paid.

We will now be closing our doors at 10.30pm each day to allow us to comply with the new restrictions. As our last evening bookings are at 8pm we still will be able to deliver our normal friendly service in a laid back atmosphere but will kindly be reminding all remaining tables at 10pm to be prompt in our 10.30pm closing time.

All guests will be required to wear face coverings at all times throughout the pub except for when sitting at their own socially distanced table (Even to the toilet!)

Whilst we remain in Tier 2 we will only be able to book tables and rooms to include guests only from your own household. Please bear in mind that you may be asked to show ID should we be in doubt and that failure to comply with these government rules could result in your booking being cancelled and your deposit being lost. However you can bring as many four pawed companions with you as you like.

Whilst we remain in Tier 2 we will only be able to serve alcohol as part of a substantial meal. This will require you to still be consuming or expecting food to arrive to allow us to continue to sell alcohol to you or your table.(sorry)

Since we reopened we have asked all customers to provide us with track and trace details. This is now a legal requirement and not just our safe practice. So no details, no service.

And please remember that although our pub may be big at the moment, for your safety and ours, our team is small. We will be working strictly to a maximum SAFE capacity within the pub and this may mean at times we will be unable to cater for all. To be sure that we will be able to cater for your requirements please book a table via our website www.bearslakeinn.com or call us on 01837 861 334 should you not find any suitable availability.

Thank you for taking the time to read our continued commitment to safe practices during the COVID pandemic.

Stay safe,

Julian, Lisa, Poppy and all the Bearslake team

Staff Safety

All staff will undergo extensive safety training prior to returning to work.

We will ask staff before each shift and guests upon arrival to sign to confirm that they have no symptoms.  Anyone presenting symptoms will be asked to return home and self isolate.

We would prefer to minimise the use of PPE where possible, preferring instead regular hand washing and the use of sanitising gels. PPE will be available as required, and may be used by our back of house teams.
